The web has discovered its new favourite drink! Negroni Sbagliato has been popping everywhere all the way from TikTok to Instagram on social media, with users eager to taste the drink that has become an instant hit.
The drink’s popularity has increased recently and can be traced to House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy, who revealed “Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco is their most-loved drink when she was asked by Co-star Olivia Cooke during a short Q&A. What is a Negroni Sbagliato?
Negroni Sbagliato is an Italian cocktail that consists of equal amounts of Campari sweet vermouth, Campari, and prosecco. The Sbagliato was invented by Mirko Stocchetto in Milan, Italy. “Sbagliato” is an Italian word meaning “mistake” or “error”..
The drink was allegedly created by accident after Mirko substituted the gin in the Negroni using sparkling wines, by making a mistake. Prosecco improves the taste of the drink and is a perfect match with the bitter Campari and sweet vermouth.
“Negronis are extremely drinkable, but they’re also extremely potent and potent that’s why they’re considered to be a high-risk drink. The sbagliato can be an excellent alternative to Negronis, but need to get some work accomplished afterwards,” says Henry Jeffreys who is the author and editor of Cocktail Dictionary. While a typical Negroni is around 25-30 percent alcohol content however, Sagliato is a different story. Sbagliato is just 15% and is an excellent alternative to the standard Negroni.

On the 1st of October, HBO Max posted a Q&A video on their TikTok account, featuring House of the Dragon stars Emma D’Arcy, who plays adult Rhaenyra as well as Olivia Cooke, who plays adult Alicent. Cooke asks D’Arcy to name their favourite drink and they respond, “A negroni … sbagliato … with prosecco in it.” Cooke responds with “Oh, stunning!”

The video became viral and received over a million hits. people were in awe of the actress’s facial expressions calling it soothing and comparing it with an extremely expensive bottle of wine. The video sparked a TikTok trend in which users upload their own videos that lip-sync to the actress’s words. The sound effect of the video has been played more than 16000 times until today.
The TikTok trend soon became a meme and, now, merchandise is being launched, such as caps, hoodies, and sweaters. caps that bear the word sbagliato’. The result was the huge popularity of the drink.
How do I Make a Negroni Sbagliato?
If you’re looking to experiment with the cocktail the recipe is easy. It’s as simple as mixing Campari along with Vermouth inside a glass and then adding ice. Add prosecco, and mix it well. It is decorated with an orange slice or twist.
Be sure that you should use sweet Italian vermouth, such as Cocchi Vermouth di Torino or Carpano Antica since the sweetness is required to offset the citrus and bitter taste of Campari. “It’s simple to make.
