Gao had a plan and a premise for a new season However, she was focused on telling the complete story in the first.
She was hoping that some of the ideas and content from the original season could be utilized in future projects.
She went on to explain, “Honestly, even when I first pitched the show I knew the direction I wanted it to go next season and what the theme of the episode would look like. At the start, I was able to formulate an idea about where it might be.
However, if you’re a TV show and the media, you shouldn’t embark on a new show expecting to be able to get another season. You must prepare in the event that this may be the final season of your show therefore you need to make a season that seems as if it’s telling a full story, yet it opens the door.
This is how I approached this idea. There are plenty of things we could not get to or be cut from the initial season which is why it would be wonderful for them to see again.”
